Homework:
Blog 1 – Create a three- to five-minute podcast related to your beat. Embed it in a blog post. Title the blog post: Podcast: Relevant Title. Can including original reporting, interview and/or commentary. [You can partner with a classmate on a podcast. If you opt to do so, it needs to be approved by me and double the length or two separate podcasts.]
Blog 2 – Choose one podcast done by journalist. Listen to it. What do you like about it? What worked? What didn’t? Does it different from what you hear on traditional radio? Explain.
Blog 3 – Discuss your news tracking site’s use of audio. How is audio used and presented on the site? If your site uses audio regularly and effectively, give at least two examples of recent stories. Discuss what worked/why it was effective. If your site does not regularly use audio, give at least two examples of stories where audio could have been used. Discuss how audio could have been used effectively. Be specific.
